Shooting Stars Basketball Academy provides leadership and mentoring through basketball. We pride ourselves in turning youth dreams into realities. Whether it's a green science project, making the junior high team or the high school varsity, earning a college scholarship, or playing at the professional level, the Academy is there to ensure all youth participants have the support they need.
Shooting Stars is established as the elite training program for all children who strive to reach their highest potential on and off of the basketball court. The program is renown for its high-level, quality coaching, game knowledge, intensity, preparation and discipline.
We believe that basketball is an extension of life. Trials and lessons in basketball are helpful tools for lessons of life. In todays' society, children require the surroundings of good mentors, caring individuals that uplift our youth into adulthood. Texas FUEL professional basketball team players admirably provide these assets to Shooting Stars, mainly inner-city youth.
Shooting Stars Basketball Academy is a 510(c)3 non-profit organization. Individual and corporate sponsorships are critical to the success of our academy. The academy relies almost entirely on fundraising and sponsorship for its ongoing operations: supplies, travel, coaching fees, uniforms, and tournament expenses.
Shooting Stars, with support of Deborah Dupre' Associates for EcoPeace International, is raising funds for 2,500 South Texas youth to become empowered by experiencing the life-changing movie, FUEL. This movie is known as providing more hope to youth than any other movie in many years. The Academy is hosting an inner-city Live FUEL Concert Show on April 25, 2009 during San Antonio Fiesta Celebration. Your $10.00 donation means one more youth can participate. Donations to date total approximately $2,000.00. This needs to be multiplied by 12 so that all of the youth on the list can attend.
Won't you join us now by donating at least $10.00 so that one inner-city youth can attend the show? Please use the simple donation method to the left - and check back here for more information after the event so you can see how much your gift was appreciated!
